World-Class Trail Running Event in Betong

Get ready for an exhilarating challenge! The Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center (SBPAC) of Yala Province, along with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports (MOTS), the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), and funding from the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF), are proud to present Amazean Jungle Thailand by UTMB® – a world-class trail running event.

As the second UTMB® World Series event to be held in Thailand, Amazean Jungle Thailand aims to:

  • Fuel the Local Economy: Promote sports tourism in Betong District, Yala Province, and surrounding areas, generating new income opportunities for the region.

  • Welcome International Athletes: Attract runners from around the world to participate in the race, boosting the local economy through tourism and participation fees.

  • Showcase the Region: Build a positive image of the southern border provinces, highlighting their beauty and potential for adventure tourism.

Definition Of The Races

Amazean Jungle Thailand by UTMB® is an event which includes several races in the trail along the border of Thailand-Malaysia. BETONG 140 Races start at Betong Mongkollit Tunnel and finish at the center of Betong City. Each race takes place in one single stage, at each runner’s own pace and within a time limit.

100M Category

• The BETONG 140: around 148 km for about 8,460 meters elevation gain. Cut-off time for finishing is 46 hours. All finishers will receive 4 running stones.

100K Category

• The BETONG 100: around 106 km for about 5,860 meters elevation gain. Cut-off time for finishing is 30 hours. All finishers will receive 3 running stones.

50K Category

• The BETONG 50: around 56 km for about 2,600 meters elevation gain. Cut-off time for finishing is 15 hours. All finishers will receive 2 running stones.

20K Category

• The BETONG 25: around 26 km for about 1,290 meters elevation gain. Cut-off time for finishing is 9 hours. All finishers will receive 1 running stone.

• The BETONG 10 : around 17 km for about 470 meters elevation gain. Cut-off time for finishing is 5 hours.
